The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario provides excellence in Catholic education for 13,000 elementary, secondary and adult students in a variety of friendly urban and rural communities in the beautiful Eastern Ontario counties of Dundas, Glengarry, Grenville, Lanark, Leeds, Prescott, Russell and Stormont.
We are currently seeking a Superintendent of Education, a person of integrity with a commitment to the ideals of Catholic schools. Reporting to the Director of Education, as a member of the senior administration team, you will demonstrate an understanding of the academic, corporate and operational functions of a Catholic school board, and possess superior problem-solving skills and be able to foster positive relationships with staff and parents.
You will be recognized for creating meaningful, systematic and sustainable change in the effective instructional and assessment practices for students and in leveraging technology for learning. Demonstrated involvement within your parish community is important.
Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of an assigned system-level portfolio, including fiscal accountability, supervision of staff, as well as the direct supervision of a family of schools. It will be necessary for you to accept a variety of leadership roles as required. Providing program analysis and development through the effective use of data, excellent research skills and project management will be key. You will be capable of inspiring the trust and confidence of others; have proven leadership abilities; and, be an effective communicator with solid organizational and interpersonal skills with a recognized ability to work positively with others.
As the successful candidate, you will be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers with a minimum of five years of experience as an administrator, and have a Supervisory Officer Certificate (or the ability to complete qualifications in accordance with the Education Act).
Additional qualifications in religious education would be considered an asset.
