The Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health is an award-winning Health Access Centre that provides holistic health services to First Nation, Inuit and Métis people living in Ottawa - one of the fastest growing and diverse urban Indigenous communities in Canada. Wabano is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support the Director of Health Services and Executive Office. Applicants should possess a strong knowledge of filing systems, Microsoft Office and have exceptional skills in verbal and written communication.


  • Booking and coordinating  meetings, including taking minutes, preparing materials, set up and clean up
  • Data entry
  • Keeping manager organized by managing schedule, filing, reminding manager of deadlines
  • Assist with report creation and editing
  • Enter timesheets into payroll system
  • Create promotional and other communication materials
  • Other administrative tasks as required
  • Three to five years experience in administration
  • Post secondary education in office administration or equivalent combinations of education and work experience
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Word, and other program applications
  • Experience working with a Human Resources Information System  (HRIS) will be considered an asset
  • Experience in  working in a team environment
  • Exceptional organization skills required
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • A self-starter who is reliable and who can work independently
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
